What’s Up with the Name and Why Garlic?

When we bought our current slice of heaven-38.5 acres in the wonderful north woods of Wisconsin-we had great dreams of homesteading while keeping our employment situations. So the plan was to dabble in various agricultural related things. Running a quasi-farm….or, Almosta Farm:)

The property came with lots of wild raspberries and blackberries. Our small flock of chickens proved to be quite prolific layers. We water- glassed a bunch of the eggs but decided freeze drying was a much better method for storage. So we bought a freeze dryer and started freeze drying everything the land provided.

We soon found that we love all things garlic! We are now growing 5 varieties and creating fabulous seasonings from both the cloves and the scapes. Cruise on over to our store to check out the selections.
